General Motors - Intern Spotlight Interview
(Video)
Too cool for
brand school
I edited this Intern Spotlight video for General Motors, featuring a young female engineer from Michigan. The raw footage? A bit rough around the edges. But after running it through a few AI tools and sharpening the audio, I saw potential — and leaned all the way into it.
Inspired by Elena’s personal style, I took a page out of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead and gave the piece a playful '90s flair. Think split screens, vibrant transitions, and music with mall montage energy.
After color correcting the interview footage to make Elena (and her outfit) pop, I pieced together action-packed stock footage from GM’s internal asset library to liven up the transitions. Add in a cameo from Mary Barra herself, and the result was a spirited ride through the world of GM — with adventure in every frame.
The video wasn’t ultimately published due to brand standard shifts, but it’s still one of my favorites from my time with GM.
Software used: Adobe Premiere Pro & Adobe After Effects
