Into the Badlands

I covered the TV series Into the Badlands for its whole run from 2015-19 on the AMC network.

As a staff writer for Den of Geek, I reviewed episodes, wrote news items based on exclusive promotional content from AMC, and interviewed the show runners and main cast members.

When I first asked for this assignment, I had no idea that I’d be studying what would essentially become the most ambitious martial arts fantasy program for adults in the United States.

If you haven’t heard of this show yet, check it out. It might seem like be a slow burn at first, but the stunts and the mechanics of the story eventually reach levels that are quite impressive.

(By the way, writers: there’s some great lessons in world building to be learned from this show.)
