Eargo’s Guide to
Hearing Loss
(eBook)
Hear and now
While on assignment with Eargo, manufacturers of the invisible hearing aid, I wrote and helped design a promotional eBook about the subtle (and not-so-subtle) effects of hearing loss. It took a couple weeks to put together. Overall, it was a fun and educational experience.
While in the research phase of this project, I noticed that the creative team had assets from previous initiatives lying around that could be recycled as content in the book itself — specifically, the “History of Hearing Aids”. I was glad we could re-use them because they added some much-needed visual flair to the book.
I thought it would be fun to play with the concept of vintage audiophile paraphernalia like the cassette tape, so I came up with the idea of a mixtape as a framework for the book. I love ‘80s music, so coming up with the playlist of songs found on the back cover was a blast.
After a few proofreading and legal reviews, Eargo’s Guide to Hearing Loss was sent out to customers who were sitting on top of the sales funnel and not really doing anything. Hopefully it helped influence them to take an action of some sort.
The eBook itself is no longer hosted by Eargo on their website, so feel free to read my copy (which might be a proof, I think) in the link below.
