General Motors — Spring Hill Manufacturing Video Cutdowns

From featurette to social campaign

This project adapted a longer documentary-style featurette originally produced by The Muse into shorter social video assets for GM recruitment and awareness campaigns. The original video followed a day in the life of Spring Hill plant workers across different functions, showcasing the culture of the plant through employee perspectives.

Areas of Focus

  • Video editing

  • Creative direction

  • Music scoring

  • Sound editing

  • Narrative condensation

  • Social video adaptation

My work focused on turning that longer story into more focused, channel-ready edits for LinkedIn and professional social platforms. That included video editing, creative direction, music scoring, sound editing, narrative condensation, and collaboration with Comms and Legal reviewers.

Impact

This project helped turn a longer manufacturing featurette into focused, channel-ready video assets that could support GM recruitment and awareness campaigns.

By condensing the original story into shorter edits, the work helped make Spring Hill manufacturing roles, skilled trades opportunities, and robotics-focused career themes more visible across LinkedIn and professional social channels.

Selected edits included:

Spring Hill Manufacturing Promo — 1:15

A shorter recruitment and awareness edit created to promote open roles and ongoing hiring needs at GM’s Spring Hill plant.

This version condensed multiple worker story arcs from the original two-minute featurette into a more focused, one-minute-range social asset, using an isolated music track from the original video with light sound editing.

Skilled Trades / Robotics Recruitment Promo — 0:15

A shorter recruitment and awareness edit created to promote open roles and ongoing hiring needs at GM’s Spring Hill plant.

This version condensed multiple worker story arcs from the original two-minute featurette into a more focused, one-minute-range social asset, using an isolated music track from the original video with light sound editing.
